Colwyn Bay is a quiet yet atmospheric seaside resort on the north coast of Wales. It’s situated in the middle of a large sweeping bay between Rhyl to the east, and Llandudno to the west. The area boasts safe award-winning sandy beaches, making it a firm favourite with many families who chose to return here year after year for their annual holiday. Alternatively, it’s also an ideal choice for a short weekend break.
There are plenty of opportunities for trying out a whole host of watersports from sailing to jet skiing. Colwyn Bay also has a popular cycle track that follows the coast giving riders particularly scenic views. Whilst away from the sea the lovely Eirias gardens are a great place to explore and perhaps enjoy a picnic.
The appeal of Colwyn Bay lies in its slow pace of life and natural beauty. It is also a good base from which to discover some of North Wales’ finest scenery. For example, from Colwyn Bay it’s easy to visit the stunning Isle of Anglesey, and of course Snowdonia.
